On the book "Rumi: A Bridge To The Soul"

How to let go of emotions when you read poetry?

Poetry which is not just words woven together to make a rhyme

Poetry which is not just rhythmic calculations which make you smile

Poetry which isn't just good for your ears or your vocabulary

Poetry, which is not just poetry.

It's something which has no bounds, no limits, no particular box-outlines

It's something more than a piece of literature.

It's something more valuable than a shining diamond worth a million

It's like a 'bridge to the soul'

Words which don't remain words when you read them, but a medium through which you interact with the inner you which isn't you..

which is a part of something bigger than you

Poetry like this talks with that part of you which you never listen to, maybe because the only medium through which it communicates is silence

And due to our intense indulgence with what happens with us in our superficial lives, we become deaf to hear that silence.

Poetry like this deafens all our other predicaments and makes us feel that silence

Listen to what it wants to say

Listen to what it wants us to hear

Listen to its rhythms and the vibes which it endows us with

Poetry like this makes us forget that we belong to this world

It takes us to the realm to which our inner self, our soul belongs

And that realm is much more bigger, much more brighter, much more happier, much more than what we feel is much more in our world.

Poetry like this makes us experience that utmost level of happiness

And makes it hard for us to come back to the world we have to live in.

How to let go of a poetry like this when it arouses every single emotion that you've ever felt, nay, emotions which you haven't even ever felt?

How to let go is the only question then that remains, loitering in your head, equating the words of the poetry lingering like a rainless cloud on a warm day.

And the only answer you can come up with is that this poetry is to your soul, what sun is to the sunflowers.
